Preventative Physical Therapy
We often have the tendency to wait until there is pain or disability before seeking treatment. Just like a dentist can help in the prevention of tooth decay, a physical therapist can help in the prevention of musculoskeletal injury. At Beyond Rehab, our therapist specialize in assessing areas of risk and soft tissue/joint restrictions that are associated with an increased risk of injury or disability. Your physical therapy treatment will begin with a thorough evaluation to assess range of motion, strength, vital signs, BMI, body fat, endurance, and red flags from your past medical history. After evaluation, a prescriptive therapeutic home exercise program (click here for example) is designed to correct these restrictions and prevent future dysfunctions.

Dry Needling
Beyond Rehab therapists are certified to practice Dry Needling.
Dry Needling is a therapy intervention in which fine monofilament needles are inserted into myofascial trigger points (painful taught bands/knots in muscles), tendons, ligaments, or near nerves to stimulate a healing response in painful musculoskeletal conditions. Dry Needling is a modern, medical/science-based intervention and is not acupuncture or Oriental Medicine.
Along with treating musculoskeletal conditions, dry needling is utilized among our athletic population to increase flexibility, speed recovery, and facilitate a return to their sport.
Musculoskeletal Conditions treated with dry needling include, but are not limited to the following:
- Chronic Upper Back and Neck Pain
- Shoulder Pain
- Low Back Pain
- Headaches
- Plantar Fascitis
- Achilles Tendonitis
- Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow)
- Medial Epicondylitis (Golfer's Elbow)
- Osteoarthritis
- Iliotibial Band Syndrome
